Fabricate 2027 has opened its call for submissions for the edition taking place on 14 and 15 May 2027 at the Barcelona headquarters of the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC). The call is open to innovative projects from both research and industry wishing to be part of this international event.

The 2027 edition focuses on rethinking extractive models of architectural production, learning from local contexts, and empowering more diverse communities of designers, makers and builders. FABRICATE is looking for work that engages meaningfully with material, social and environmental questions across diverse scales and geographies.

Since its inception, FABRICATE has played an important role in promoting innovative work at the intersection of design and making, putting forward projects that challenge how architecture is conceived, materialised and constructed. The platform has not only been a showcase for technological advancement, but also a space for rethinking practice, materiality and impact within the sector.

The event will be co-chaired by Areti Markopoulou (Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia) and Xavier De Kestelier (Hassell), with the aim of strengthening ties between industry and research.
