FABRICATE is a triennial, not-for-profit conference and a world-leading reference in the fields of architectural and engineering design, digital fabrication, material innovation, advanced manufacturing, and sustainable construction. 

This global, cross-sector platform brings together architects, engineers, researchers, manufacturers, and industry leaders around next-generation technologies, circularity, and low-carbon development. More than 50 internationally renowned reviewers select from nearly 300 proposals submitted from over 40 countries, ensuring a programme of excellence and diversity. 

The 6th edition, FABRICATE 2027, will be organised by IAAC – the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia and will be held in Barcelona, a world-renowned city in design and manufacturing. Co-chaired by Dr Areti Markopoulou (IAAC) and Xavier De Kestelier (Hassell), the event will include a two-day congress for approximately 400 delegates, the launch of the FABRICATE 2027 book, and workshops at the Valldaura Campus in the Collserola Natural Park. 

The congress will provide a space for debate to rethink extractive models of architectural production and to strengthen communities of designers, manufacturers, and builders across the world.
